There are three catagories under which you can apply. PERFORMER: A performer provides entertainment on the day of the festival. (eg music group, musician, roving musician) STALL HOLDER: A stall holder hires a stall inside the festival area for trade. These stalls are open to community groups for fundraising purposes, or to private individuals/businesses. VOLUNTEER : A volunteer acts under the direction of the festival ogranisers to help in the lead-up to and / or on the day of the festival tailored around your availability.
ABOUT THE EVENT: Sunday November 16th 2014, 11am-4pm, Bain Reserve, Merlyn Street, Merlynston, North Coburg.
Hay bale seating, extra performances in Merlynston’s Welcome Shop and kids activities including face-painting and hat-making workshops contributed to a great atmosphere. The 2012 festival was a sustainable event with solar-generated stage and PAs, and composting toilets brought in for the day.
This year’s festival will be funded by community grants from Moreland City Council (Celebrating Place grant), Multicultural Victoria, and through direct fundraising within the Coburg North community.
We’d like to make the 2014 festival even bigger and better, inviting artists, muicians and community groups from Coburg, North Coburg, Fawkner and surrounds to get involved. We envision two music performance spaces, separate exhibition spaces, kids’ craft and music workshops as well as food and craft stalls and roving performances.
We need heaps of people to pitch in to make sure the 2014 Merlynston Festival is a success.
